Zdrojem to\u010div\u00e9ho momentu p\u0159en\u00e1\u0161en\u00e9ho na kola sice m\u016f\u017ee b\u00fdt spalovac\u00ed motor, ale p\u0159i j\u00edzd\u011b na elektrickou trakci se vyp\u00edn\u00e1. A co je nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00ed, nevy\u017eaduje elektrick\u00e9 nap\u00e1jen\u00ed, proto\u017ee baterie se v p\u0159\u00edpad\u011b pot\u0159eby dobije z gener\u00e1toru pomoc\u00ed energie spalovac\u00edho motoru. V\u00fdhodou paraleln\u00edho hybridu je, \u017ee spalovac\u00ed motor nejen dod\u00e1v\u00e1 energii gener\u00e1toru, ale m\u016f\u017ee b\u00fdt i samostatn\u011b zdrojem to\u010div\u00e9ho momentu na kolech. Pokud je baterie vybit\u00e1, spalovac\u00ed motor ji m\u016f\u017ee dob\u00edt nebo se p\u0159ipojit jako b\u011b\u017en\u00e9 auto a pos\u00edlat energii na kola.
